5 tips for eco-friendly car cleaning

There are many ways to clean your car, some of which are more harmful to the environment than others. For example, eco-conscious car owners avoid using excessive amounts of drinking water and toxic cleaning products. Here are our recommendations for washing your car while minimizing environmental harm.

1-Turn old t-shirts into rags to clean your vehicle’s interior and exterior. For impeccable results, choose lint-free fabrics.

2- For sparkling clean windows, use a mixture of water and white vinegar. It’s simple and effective!

3-Does your car smell bad? Instead of using artificial perfumes, sprinkle baking soda on the seats and carpets. Leave it for at least thirty minutes before vacuuming.

4- Use a mild and environmentally friendly soap like liquid black soap mixed with water to clean the cabin. Wipe each section with a cloth soaked in clean water afterward.

5- When it’s time for the final rinse, use a bucket of water rather than a garden hose. Rainwater is ideal if you have a collection barrel. Plus, you can use the collected water to water your garden, trees and flowers.

If you’re not up to the task of washing your car yourself, consider going to a touchless  car wash instead of one with automated rollers because they use less water.
