Windshield wipers: essential for your visibility

The windshield wipers consist of a rubber blade that hugs the windshield to wipe away rain, snow and dirt. An armature gives the blade its rigidity, allowing it to have a constant and uniform pressure on the glass. The wipers are mounted on exposed mechanical arms, which are themselves attached to a linkage that is concealed under the hood of the vehicle. The linkage consists of crossed metal rods and connects the wipers to a small motor.

When the wiper motor is activated, it starts to rotate in one direction (yes, one direction only!) at the selected speed and moves the rods of the linkage. The linkage rods allow the wipers to move from left to right (and vice versa) thanks to their specific crossover points. A force is transmitted to the arms, which then move the wipers to wipe the window.

When weather conditions deteriorate, the wipers are the only ones that can give you a clear view of the road ahead. Is there a malfunction in your vehicle’s windshield wipers? To replace them or have their mechanism repaired, visit your M 360 Mechanic repair shop!
