When should you change your brakes?

To drive safely, a brake system in perfect condition is of paramount importance. So, if you detect any of these signs when you’re behind the wheel, it’s time to act to avoid unpleasant surprises:

  • You notice that a warning light comes on (and stays on) on your dashboard, either the ABS light or the brake light;
  • You notice a change when you brake (e.g. you have to depress the pedal deeper than usual to stop your vehicle);
  • You hear an unusual sound when you apply the brakes (e.g., a high-pitched metallic noise);
  • You feel a vibration when braking that seems to increase with time and use of your car.

In all the cases mentioned, a visit to a mechanic repair shop is essential. Allowing your brakes to wear out could not only require costly repairs, it could also put you at high risk of collision. To be sure of this and to take the road in peace, make an appointment at a M 360 Mechanic repair shop!
